Uzma has a kind and nurturing demeanor. She instantly puts others at ease. For children who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or intimidated, her presence offers an immediate safespace. For my son, Ms. Uzma helped him with decreasing anxiety, building confidence, conflict resolution, emotional self regulation, and self advocacy. My son does not know this though. In his eyes, Ms. Uzma listened to him, encouraged him, and played games with him. It was through this play therapy that she was able to connect with him and guide him through frustrations while teaching him different tools to use in the future. Uzma is a consummate professional. She is amazing at understanding the unique needs of children and speaking to them in their language. Parenting is hard and confusing. Uzma's guidance and knowledge has been invaluable. It helps parents set developmentally-appropriate expectations and helps children gain skills necessary to meet those expectations."

Uzma worked with high school students to guide them through the college access process. For those of us with students that age, most of the battle seems to be to keep them on track without stress. And Uzma does that.
