Coaching services paused while I complete my clinical counseling residency.
My name is Uzma, and I am the founder of BrightRoots Coaching. I am also an author, dedicated to creating meaningful literature that inspires and empowers parents.
My background includes a wide range of experiences that have supported hundreds of individuals and families over the years.
I hold a master’s degree in Counseling from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Queens College, City University of New York. While these fields may seem quite different, my professional journey began in the fast-paced world of downtown Manhattan. After spending a few years in that dynamic environment, I realized my true passion lay in working with people and supporting their growth. This realization led me to pursue a career in counseling; a path I have embraced wholeheartedly ever since.
For over a decade, I have supported youth, adults, and families as they navigate identity development, life transitions, and personal growth. My work is rooted in a person-centered approach, helping clients cultivate clarity, direction, and a greater sense of ease in their lives.
BrightRoots Coaching is currently in a season of growth. I am completing my clinical residency as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia, deepening my ability to support individuals and families through licensed mental health care. Coaching services are temporarily paused during this training period as I focus on this next stage of professional development.

A children's-style book created for mothers, emphasizing the importance of self-care and its beneficial impact on the child.

I am currently pausing coaching services while I complete my clinical residency as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia. This period of training will allow me to deepen my clinical work and return to BrightRoots Coaching in the future with expanded skills and licensure. Stay tuned!
